Junior Coach Certification

The USA Lacrosse Junior Certification Program is designed to prepare the young coach for the unique challenges her or she may face. It will equip coaches with both the technical and tactical knowledge of the game necessary to think critically and make educated coaching decisions.

In order to be a certified as Junior Women’s or Men’s Level 1 Coach, the coach must be at least 14 years of age. The certification is good through the coach’s 18th birthday, when, if they want to remain certified, they will need to complete a background check through the National Center for Safety Initiatives, USA Lacrosse’s national service provider for background checks.

Note: High School members must update their USA Lacrosse accounts with their personal email address (not their parents’ email), in order to receive credit for completing the course work to become a certified coach.

  1. USA Lacrosse Coach Membership (with updated involvement type to include Coach)
  2. Level 1, Developing the Individual Athlete Online Course
