The NCAA released its second regional ranking today for Division II women’s lacrosse and the final regional ranking for Division II men’s lacrosse, reflecting game results through April 28.

On the women’s side, the NCAA ranks the top six teams in each of the four geographic regions. The No. 1 ranked teams are West Chester (Atlantic), Pace (East), Florida Southern (South), and Maryville (Midwest).

The NCAA regional rankings determine participants for the NCAA tournament. The top four teams from each region will make up the 16-team women’s tournament field, which will be announced at 8:30 p.m. Eastern time on Sunday, May 12 — one week after the Selection Sunday shows for the other NCAA lacrosse divisions.

There are no automatic qualifications given for league champions in Division II lacrosse.

The NCAA will release a third and final women’s regional ranking on May 8, prior to Selection Sunday.

On the men’s side, which divides teams into two geographic regions, Adelphi is the top-ranked team in the North Region and Tampa is top-ranked in the South Region. The final selections for the Division II men’s tournament will include six teams from each region, with the full 12-team bracket announced this Sunday, May 5, at 7:30 p.m.
