Snow forced the postponement of one top-10 head-to-head showdown last week — James Madison at Virginia — but there were pleny of other big games and surprises last week to shake up the standings.

Maryland knocked off two unbeaten top-10 teams in three days — Penn and James Madison — but saw Boston College pass by them into the No. 2 spot as the Eagles picked up their biggest win of the season, beating North Carolina, to run its record to a perfect 12-0.

The big shake-up to the poll came via a midweek win for Towson at Florida that had domino effects throughout.

HOT

Towson (+8)

Towson climbs on a combination of a big road victory at Florida, and a lack of any real blemishes on its its resume. The Tigers are 6-2 with a triple-overtime loss to No. 5 Loyola and a 13-8 loss at No. 1 Stony Brook that was tied 8-8 with just over 10 minutes to play.

Stanford (+4)

The Cardinal forged a three-way tie atop the Pac-12 standings by scoring the final five goals of the game to beat USC 12-11 in double overtime. Since starting 0-2, Stanford has won seven of its last eight games, but will have to race USC again this Sunday.

Loyola (+3)

The Greyhounds keep winning and rode Towson's victory over Florida to a higher spot in the rankings. Loyola has won six straight and won't face another ranked opponent until Syracuse visits on April 5.

Boston College (+2)

The Eagles were impressive to start the season, but lacked the big-time wins that most of the other top-ranked teams possessed. No more. The Eagles used a six-goal run in the second half to pull away from the Tar Heels and pick up a major victory.

NOT

Princeton (-4)

The Tigers started the week with an impressive comeback win over Penn State last Monday, it's first over a ranked opponent this season. The momentum was short-lived with a 15-12 loss to Dartmouth on Saturday that left the Tigers just 4-3 for the season.

Syracuse (-3)

An overtime loss to unranked Notre Dame knocked the Orange down, and things don't get any easier. Syracuse always schedules tough, but a grueling three-game week awaits with a game at Northwestern today, a trip to Princeton on Thursday and then an ACC home game against Duke on Saturday.

IN

Dartmouth

Former Northwestern star Danielle Spencer has the Big Green on the move. Dartmouth lost its opener to Massachusetts, but has since reeled off six straight wins, none bigger than Saturday's 15-12 win at Princeton to moved the team to 2-0 in the Ivy League.

OUT

Johns Hopkins (previously 19)

The Blue Jays own a victory over No. 5 Loyola, but fell to 0-2 to start the Big Ten slate with a 13-12 overtime loss at Penn State on Thursday night. Friday afternoon's home game against Northwestern is critical for Hopkins.
