A 3-0 week by Virginia Tech Club and a huge victory by Florida State helped both the Hokies and Seminoles rise closer to the top in this week’s WCLA Division I Top 20.

Ending a five-week layoff, No. 6 Virginia Tech Club jumped three spots after returning to action with an undefeated weekend. In addition to wins over James Madison Club and South Carolina, the Hokies registered a 12-4 victory over rival Virginia Club, which dropped four spots.

Meanwhile, in a rematch from last year’s first round of the national championship tournament, Florida State avenged a loss by beating defending champion Boston College Club 10-9 on Sunday in Tallahassee. With the win, the Seminoles move up to No. 4.

Despite losing to FSU, No. 10 Boston College Club also made a huge jump this week due to its 6-4 win over previously undefeated Florida Club. The Gators, now 12-1, dropped one spot to third.

No. 1 Georgia, a 12-6 winner over No. 17 Clemson Club last week, puts it undefeated record on the line with a northern swing this week. The Dawgs visit No. 9 Northeastern and No. 10 BC Club for back-to-back games Friday and Saturday.

Other key games this week include No. 12 Pitt Club vs. No. 20 Penn State Club, and No. 11 Notre Dame Club against both No. 14 Michigan Club and Michigan State.
