Lindsey Munday, the head women’s lacrosse at USC since the program’s inception, will part ways with the school after 14 seasons.

Munday, also the head coach of the U.S. Women’s National Sixes Team, was hired by USC in 2011 to launch the school’s new varsity program and over her tenure led the Trojans to an overall record of 169-79 with six NCAA tournament appearances, including quarterfinal trips in 2016 and 2017.

"After thoughtful conversations, we mutually agreed this is the right time for new leadership and a new direction for USC Women's Lacrosse," said Charles Griffin Cale Director of Athletics Jen Cohen in a statement. "We are grateful to Lindsey for her 14 years of service to USC and for all of her work and dedication to this program. We wish her every continued success, and we look forward to finding the right coach to take our program forward."

"To be able to start a program is incredibly special and something I will always hold close to my heart,” Munday said. “To the players I had the privilege to coach, I am honored you chose USC, and I am lucky to know you all. Although I am moving on, I will always root for USC and am thankful for my time there. I am excited about my future and as always, Fight On!"

Prior to coming to USC, Munday spent four years as an assistant coach at her alma mater, Northwestern. The Wildcats went 85-4 in her four seasons, winning three consecutive national championships from 2007 to 2009.

As a player, Munday helped Northwestern to its first two national championships in 2005 and 2006, serving as a team captain her senior year. She was a two-time first team All-American and finished her career with 268 career points.

She went on to play with the U.S. national team, winning gold medals with the U.S. at the 2009 and 2013 World Cups, serving as a team captain for the 2013 squad. Munday earned All-World honors at both championships and holds U.S. national team records for assists in tournament (21) and career (35).

Munday was appointed as the U.S. Women’s National Sixes Team head coach in April 2024. She led the U.S. to the world championship at The World Games in Chengdu, China last summer. She will lead the team at the Pan-American Lacrosse Championships in Oshawa, Ontario from Sept. 29 – Oct. 5. That event will serve as the continental qualifier for the inaugural World Lacrosse Sixes Championship, which is slated for 2027.
