(2) Boston College vs. (3) Northwestern
📜 Previous History: Feb. 15 was a big day for final four previews, apparently. Boston College beat Northwestern 13-9 that day in a rematch of the 2024 NCAA championship game, one that will go down in history as one of the best in recent memory. In that game, the Eagles came back from a 6-0 first-quarter deficit and took the lead for the first time with 9:39 to go in the fourth. Oh, and Shea Dolce made "The Save" of the year.
✅ Final: (3) Northwestern def. (2) Boston College 12-11
🔥 Top Performer: Madison Taylor, Northwestern — The season will end Sunday with Taylor as the No. 1 scorer in a single-season in Division I women's history after Northwestern bested Boston College and Rachel Clark, who was on her heels. Taylor had four goals and four assists, including the feed to Sam Smith that ultimately won the game for the Wildcats.
💥 Key Moment: In the waning seconds, Delaney Sweitzer stuffed an in-close look to tie the score, preserving a hard-fought win. Northwestern gave Boston College ample chances inside the final 90 seconds, but the defense held firm.
⏭️ Next: It will be Northwestern vs. North Carolina for the championship. North Carolina won earlier this season, 15-12.
(1) North Carolina vs. (4) Florida
📜 Previous History: North Carolina beat Florida 14-9 back on Feb. 15, though Florida knocked out the then-injury-bitten Tar Heels in the first round of the NCAA tournament a year ago. Both teams have revenge on the mind.
✅ Final: (1) North Carolina def. (4) Florida 20-4
🔥 Top Performer: Chloe Humphrey, North Carolina — Held scoreless while dealing with a faceguard in the first half, Humphrey managed to shake the faceoff in the second quarter. Then she did it again and again ... and again and again. Overall, the Tewaaraton Award finalist buried a career-high seven goals and became UNC's single-season goals leader.
💥 Key Moment: Whatever happened in the huddle after the first quarter, which ended with Florida ahead 4-2. Whatever Jenny Levy said worked, because North Carolina was an absolute machine in all facets from there.
⏭️ Next: North Carolina awaits the Boston College-Northwestern winner in the championship game on Sunday.
