Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. The New England Black Wolves entered the loss column for the first time this season, falling to the Georgia Swarm 11-10. Miles Thompson scored the overtime game-winner for the Swarm (3-2), which got three goals and four assists from Shayne Jackson.
Elsewhere in NLL action, the Halifax Thunderbirds improved to 6-0 to start the season with a 15-12 victory over the Calgary Roughnecks (2-4) on Saturday. The Philadelphia Wings (5-1) continued their hot streak with a 14-6 win over the New York Riptide (1-7) in which Brett Hickey scored five goals and Myles Jones made his NLL debut.

2. The lacrosse community remembers Gene Corrigan, the National Lacrosse Hall of Famer and collegiate athletics pioneer, who died late Friday. He was 91.
Corrigan, the father of Notre Dame coach Kevin Corrigan, was a two-time All-American lacrosse player at Duke (1950-51). He coached at St. Paul’s School (Md.) (1952-55), Washington and Lee (1955-58) and Virginia (1958-67) before moving on to a career in administration, eventually serving as NCAA president.

3. Last week, Charlotte North broke the internet.
North, the Duke transfer that will make her Boston College debut in 2020, dazzled with her trick shot that has garnered over 150,000 views on social media.

4. Princeton women’s lacrosse will try to rebuild a Top-25 defense for the 2020 season. It could be key to the Tigers' success in the Ivy League and beyond.

5. Notre Dame men’s lacrosse has been consistently competitive for over a decade, but hasn’t made it to the NCAA title game since 2015. Coach Kevin Corrigan and his staff have brought in talented underclassmen that will pair with Tewaaraton candidate Bryan Costabile in 2020.
Always a factor, the Irish sit at No. 6 in the Nike/US Lacrosse Division I Men’s Top 20.
6. Williams men’s lacrosse tops the Division III men’s lacrosse rankings thanks to the contributions from players like 6-foot-6 bulldozer Brendan Hoffman.
Hoffman, who scored 74 points in 2019, will be key for the Ephs as they look for a national title.
7. The news of Kobe Bryant’s tragic death rocked the sports community on Sunday.
