Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. Romar Dennis shared his family’s story of encountering racism on his Instagram. His father, Roberto Sr., came from Panama to join the Yankees farm system, and his mother, Marleny, emigrated from El Salvador in the 1980s.
US Lacrosse Magazine’s Nelson Rice caught up with Dennis, the Atlas LC player, to hear his perspective on race in lacrosse and how the PLL might be planning to address the racial injustice at its upcoming Championship Series. Check it out now.
2. Emily Boissonneault is ready to lead Pitt women’s lacrosse.
The first head coach of the Pitt program wrote a letter to fans on the first anniversary of her hiring. The Panthers are slated to start play in the ACC in the 2021-22 season.
3. Albany’s Jakob Patterson is headed back to school, according to the Albany Times Union.
Coach Scott Marr said paperwork still needs to be processed, but the Great Danes will welcome back the senior and former America East Player of the Year, who had six goals and 14 assists before the season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Check out more on Patterson’s potential return.
