“We want to get back to what is at the heart of lacrosse. It’s fun. It’s fast. It’s being with your friends and playing for the love of the game,” said Matt Kinnear, Editor-in-Chief of Inside Lacrosse. “The Committed Sixes League isn’t about recruiting or scholarships, it’s about playing the sport these athletes love in a time of the year where there aren’t many opportunities offered to them.”
The Committed Sixes League also aims to grow the Sixes discipline. It will serve as a training ground to learn the new format that will be featured in the 2028 Olympics, showcase it with high-level play and train officials.
“All eyes are on LA 2028. These athletes could be in the Olympics one day, and we all want to celebrate the Olympic Dream with another fun Sixes experience on the road to LA,” IL CEO Terry Foy said.
The Inside Lacrosse media team will provide written and multimedia of the Committed Sixes League in a continued commitment to promoting Sixes and showcasing the athleticism and excitement of women’s lacrosse.
The Committed Sixes League is expected to expand to other markets in Fall 2026, including the West Coast, New England and the Midwest.
“We are excited to be partnered with IL to bring this league to committed athletes in New York, Philly and Maryland this year and to other regions across the country next year and beyond,” said Stephen Fossati, President of Pacific Edge Sports.
