Averie Smith, Garden City (N.Y.)

There’s a lot to like about Averie Smith — her hard work, her lacrosse IQ, her love for the game. You can add flair for the dramatic, too. Smith, who also had an assist, now has 16 goals and 13 assists on the season, ahead of a Woodstick Classic showdown against Manhasset (N.Y.) on May 3.

“Averie is an extremely hard worker on and off the field,” Trojans coach Dave Ettinger said. “She’s passionate about lacrosse, constantly looking for ways to improve, and truly a student of the game.”
