Sarah Fortier, Concord-Carlisle (Mass.)

Sarah Fortier cemented her legacy at Concord-Carlisle in the best possible way, scoring the overtime winner in a 10-9 victory over Notre Dame Academy (Mass.) in the MIAA Division I championship.

The Middlebury-bound senior won 27 draw controls and scored 13 goals in the postseason, helping the Patriots capture a second straight state crown.

“Champions are often remembered for the goals they score, but true leaders are remembered for the standard they set,” Concord-Carlisle coach Erin Cash said. “Sarah Fortier led not only with extraordinary lacrosse IQ and technical skill, but with a courage that never wavered, a relentlessness that never faded, and a determination that inspired everyone around her.”
