USA Lacrosse Names High School Girls' Players of the Week

USA Lacrosse recognizes the most outstanding individual performances in high school boys’ and girls' lacrosse in each region we cover. New this year, coaches and others can submit athletes for consideration using our online form. Click here to enter your nomination.

NORTHEAST

Emma Row, New Canaan (Conn.)

Emma Row had herself a week.

In an 8-7 win over Rye (N.Y.), the Columbia-bound senior netted seven goals. She followed with four goals and three assists in a 15-7 victory over Morristown (N.J.) as New Canaan enjoyed a 2-0 week.

“Emma has been a driving force for us early this season, making a significant impact on the offensive end,” Rams coach Kristin Woods said. “As a senior, she plays with poise and determination. Her ability to rise to the occasion in high-pressure situations speaks to both her competitive nature and her commitment to the team’s success.”

MID-ATLANTIC

Maria Bragg, Severna Park (Md.)

The junior midfielder has been a spark for the Falcons in the early going this year. Holding a narrow 6-5 lead over Archbishop Spalding (Md.), Bragg delivered two goals and an assist as Severna Park pulled away for a 10-6 win that helped them stay unbeaten. Their perfect record was further tested in the next game when they trailed Broadneck (Md.) 7-6 late in the fourth quarter. Bragg delivered a diving score to force overtime where the Falcons won on Payton Jeffers’ score in triple overtime. Bragg finished with two goals and an assist to help keep Severna Park unbeaten.

SOUTH

Grace Knowles, Manatee (Fla.)

As her time with Manatee is about to close, Grace Knowles has played some of her best lacrosse. Last week in a win against Sickles (Fla.), the senior midfielder scored six goals and added two assists. She also scored three goals and added an assist versus Wharton (Fla.). She has scored 81 goals so far this year. She is committed to Charlotte.

MIDWEST

Grace Dwyer, Loyola Academy (Ill.)

What is the Ramblers senior standout capable of? A ton, really. The Georgetown commit proved that again Friday when she set the tone for Loyola's East Coast swing with seven goals and two assists in an emphatic win over Sidwell Friends (D.C.). She later added hat tricks against two more top teams, Georgetown Visitation (D.C.) and St. Stephen's & St. Agnes (Va.), to round out the week with a whopping 15 goals.

WEST

Elle Vickers, Foothill-Santa Ana (Calif.)

Senior middie Elle Vickers sparked the Knights’ offense in their fourth league victory of the season against Yorba Linda (Calif.). Vickers was .929 percent from the inside the draw circle, controlling eight and winning 13 of 14 attempts. She also added two goals on two shots on goal.
