Public high school lacrosse programs produce some of the most competitive teams and top players in the country.
Unlike private schools, which often have the advantage of recruiting talent from a wider geographic area, public schools rely on local athletes, strong coaching and community support to build their programs. This creates a unique dynamic in the world of high school lacrosse, where schools must develop talent from within and foster a culture of success year after year.
By focusing exclusively on public school programs, these USA Lacrosse National Top 25 and Regional Top 10 lists (also found here in our rankings hub) highlight the best teams that have built powerhouse rosters through local development and strong grassroots efforts. Here are the top public high school girls’ lacrosse teams entering the 2025 season.
