Paul Rabil has surpassed the pinnacle of any collegiate player's career. Since a record-breaking six-goal performance in Johns Hopkins' 2008 NCAA championship loss to Syracuse, Rabil has talked of a tipping point for the game that would take the sport to a new level.

That time has come. 

Rabil sent shockwaves through the lacrosse world Oct. 22 when he announced the Premier Lacrosse League, which is backed by non-endemic investors and a broadcast agreement with NBC Sports Group. The PLL will debut as a six-team touring league June 1, 2019, traveling to 12 cities across the country while offering full-time wages and benefits. 

The December edition of US Lacrosse Magazine dives into everything you need to know about the PLL with the Rabils at the forefront. This issue marks Paul Rabil's eighth appearance on the cover of US Lacrosse's flagship publication, more than anyone else in the magazine's 40-year history.

Also in this edition is the annual #BestOfLax package, anchored by a feature on Noelle Lambert's miraculous return to the field since losing her left leg above the knee in a moped accident. On April 7 — one year, eight months and eight days since the accident — she delivered lacrosse's most memorable moment of 2018, scoring a goal that became the shot heard 'round the world.
