The LA28 Olympics have released the dates and times for the competitions for all sports included in the program for the next summer Olympics. Lacrosse, returning to the program as a medal sport for the first time in over a century, will compete from July 24-29, 2028.
Earlier this year, it was announced that the lacrosse competition would be held at The Stadium in Exposition Park, home to Major League Soccer’s Los Angeles Football Club and the National Women’s Soccer League’s Angel City Football Club.
The men’s round robin games will be played from July 24-28 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. (Pacific time), and the women’s round robin games take place from July 24-29 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. (Pacific time).
The men’s medal games are slated for Saturday, July 29 from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. (Pacific time) with the women’s medal games later that evening from 8:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. (Pacific time).
The Summer Olympics run from July 12-29, 2028, so the lacrosse competition will take place during the back half of the program and will share the same facility as flag football.
The Olympics will utilize the sixes discipline of the sport, and World Lacrosse will announce the qualifying procedures for the Olympics in the near future.
The U.S. women won the most recent international sixes championship, beating Canada in the gold medal game at The World Games in Chengdu, China, earlier this summer. The last men’s sixes international championship was in 2022 when Canada defeated the U.S. in the gold medal game of The World Games in Birmingham, Ala.
