Every time Matt Traynor steps on a lacrosse field to play the game he has revered for most of his life, he never fails to appreciate the chance to do it one more time.

Kayla Treanor is leaving Syracuse to become the head coach at Penn State, the women’s lacrosse legend informed players Wednesday. 

Down 12-6 in the third quarter, Penn State scored the game's final eight goals to win 14-12 over Notre Dame.

Missy Doherty, who led Penn State to back-to-back final fours in 2016 and 2017, will not return as the Nittany Lions' head coach next season.
