Madison Taylor, a three-time Tewaaraton Award finalist, has finally won her first.
The Northwestern attacker was named the recipient of the 2026 Tewaaraton Award Thursday night during a ceremony at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C., following a standout season in which she scored 97 goals and produced 42 assists, leading the Wildcats to a national championship.
Taylor finishes her career with two national titles, bookending her historic career on top.
The other finalists were Chloe Humphrey (North Carolina), Brigid Duffy (Army), Alyssa Chung (Navy) and Reagan O'Brien (Johns Hopkins).
Taylor is the fifth Northwestern player to win the Tewaaraton Award, joining Izzy Scane, Shannon Smith, Hannah Nielsen and Kristen Kjellman. Those five players account for eight total Tewaaratons.
The Wantagh, N.Y., product likely cemented her case as the 2026 winner after an NCAA championship game performance for the ages. She put up one goal with six assists, finishing her career tied with Scane for the most points in Northwestern history (483). She also passed Scane for the most points in a career in the NCAA tournament (91).
Taylor played in the NCAA championship game in every year of her career, winning titles in 2023 and 2026.
