(2) Boston College vs. (7) Yale
5 p.m. EDT (ESPNU)
✅ Final: (2) Boston College def. (7) Yale 18-11
🔥 Top Performer: Rachel Clark, Boston College — Clark deposited eight goals to break the single-season program record held by Charlotte North, who was on the call on ESPN and had a great reaction to Clark's 103rd goal of the year.
💥 Key Moment: The first half was perhaps a shock to the system for Boston College, as the Yale zone was impenetrable and the Yale draw was stellar. The Bulldogs led 6-5 on a goal from Taylor Lane with 10:18 left in the second quarter — and then that was that. Boston College awakened, scoring the next nine goals to take complete control. Emma LoPinto scored the first five in that stretch.
⏭️ Next: Boston College has a date with the Northwestern team it came back to beat in a thrilling national championship game a year ago. The No. 1 single-season goal-scoring title is on the line in this one, with Clark (103) and Madison Taylor (105) duking it out. Taylor already broke the record and is the current leader, but can Clark take it over?
(4) Florida vs. Duke
2:30 p.m. EDT (ESPNU)
✅ Final: (4) Florida def. Duke 11-9
🔥 Top Performer: The Florida defense — OK, yes, this is cheating. And even though Duke spun off seven straight goals in the second half to make this a nailbiter, the Florida 1-v-1 defense was largely superb. It frustrated Duke in the second half, holding the Blue Devils to two goals, and even withstood a 7-v-5 possession while the Gators were two players down. People talk about the Florida offense. They should talk about the defense, too.
💥 Key Moment: Georgia Hoey came on in relief of Elyse Finnelle while Duke was in the middle of a 7-0 run in the second half, and Hoey applied the brakes when she made a high save with just under a minute left to preserve the two-goal lead for Florida.
⏭️ Next: The Gators, making their second consecutive final four appearance await the winner of North Carolina and Princeton in the semifinals.
(3) Northwestern vs. Penn
12 p.m. EDT (ESPNU)
✅ Final: (3) Northwestern def. Penn 17-12
🔥 Top Performer: Madison Taylor, Northwestern — Ever heard of her? She deposited six goals (with four assists) on Thursday, becoming the Division I women's single-season goals leader in the process when she passed Abby Hormes (103) with her first goal of the second half.
💥 Key Moment: This was a lot closer than the five-goal margin might indicate. Penn cut its deficit to 11-10 after a three-goal spurt early in the third quarter, but Northwestern responded with a pair of its own and the defense held down the fort from there.
⏭️ Next: Northwestern gets the winner of (2) Boston College and (7) Yale. Boston College, of course, came back to beat the Wildcats in the NCAA championship game last spring.
