North Carolina and Yale each jumped two spots to Nos. 2 and 4, respectively, in the latest update to the USA Lacrosse Division I Women’s Top 20.
North Carolina’s 14-9 win over Florida coupled with Northwestern’s 13-9 loss to Boston College created the opportunity for the Tar Heels to take the No. 2 spot from the Wildcats, who slipped one place to No. 3.
Then, after Yale beat then-No. 3 Michigan, the Bulldogs moved from No. 6 to No. 4.
The other notable result in the top half of the rankings, Syracuse’s 15-9 win over Maryland, pushed Syracuse to No. 6. Maryland, which started the week at No. 9, is now No. 11.
Toward the end of the Top 20, Ohio State is new to the ranking at No. 19 after winning a defense-first affair against Louisville, 9-6.
