MID-ATLANTIC
Hunter Metz, McDonogh (Md.)
McDonogh graduated a tremendous senior class, but the Eagles still have Metz. The senior attackman impressed right from the start with an early behind-the-back goal on his way to scoring six times and adding two assists in the Eagles’ 12-10 win over IMG Academy (Fla.). Metz provided a lot of the offense early, then helped McDonogh hold off IMG when they rallied. He also had a caused turnover in the win. Metz will continue his career at Notre Dame.
Also notable: Jace Banks, Hill School (Pa.); Bennett Cook, Loyola Blakefield (Md.); Brendan DuFour, St. John’s (D.C.); Leo Gillette, Hill School (Pa.); Caleb Kelly, Calvert Hall (Md.); Quinn Lynch, Boys’ Latin (Md.); Jamie McCracken, Malvern (Pa.); Nick Montgomery, Gonzaga (D.C.); Thomas Ploszay, Malvern (Pa.); Avi Ruiz, Bullis (Md.); Adam Schwab, Archbishop Spalding (Md.)
SOUTH
Brody Powell, Lambert (Ga.)
The Longhorns are off to a hot start, and Powell has played a critical role. In Lambert’s recent overtime win against Charlotte Catholic (N.C.), the sophomore attackman provided the heroics by scoring the game-winning overtime goal. He also contributed five goals in a win over Cambridge (Ga.) and three goals against Lake Norman (N.C.). Powell hopes to follow the footsteps of his three uncles, who all played Division I lacrosse.
Also notable: JP Dolan, Ponte Vedra (Fla.); David Druhot, Jupiter (Fla.); Chris Gonzalez, Newsome (Fla.); Nick Testa, St. Andrew’s (Fla.)
WEST
Brandon Wright, Valor Christian (Colo.)
Wright was a key difference-maker at the center in Valor Christian’s latest matchup, winning 15 faceoffs at a 71.4-percent win rate, while scooping up eight ground balls and adding a goal. The junior faceoff specialist consistently gave the Eagles possessions, controlling the tempo and allowing Valor’s offense to stay on the attack throughout the game. His work between the lines proved critical in maintaining momentum and helping Valor dictate play from start to finish.
His performance showcased not only his quick hands and strong technique but also his ability to contribute beyond the faceoff circle, tracking down loose balls and pushing transition when opportunities emerged. With his all-around effort and ability to tilt possession in Valor’s favor, Wright delivered a standout performance that helped anchor the Eagles’ success against 5th-ranked Marin Catholic (Calif.).
Also notable: Eli Friedman, Brophy (Ariz.); Cole Gallup, Cherry Creek (Colo.); Harper O'Hara, Mater Dei (Calif.)
