Anthony Raio, Half Hollow Hills (N.Y.)
Anthony Raio has shot himself into history. And he’s not done shooting. The Half Hollow Hills senior became the all-time leading scorer in Suffolk County history when he scored four goals and added four assists in a 22-8 win over Commack (N.Y.) on Saturday.
The North Carolina commit has 255 career goals, eclipsing the previous record set by Nicky Galasso of West Islip (N.Y.). Raio, who has 61 goals and 47 assists on the season, is six goals away from becoming Long Island’s new goals king. Jeff Cohen from Syosset (N.Y.) holds the mark at 260.
“Anthony is a dynamic player who makes the athletes around him better,” Half Hollow Hills coach Connor Hagans said. “He has perfected his craft over the years with hard work, and it has enabled him to have success.”
