USA Completes Pool Play Unbeaten with Win over Chinese Taipei

The United States completed pool play unbeaten at the 2026 Nissin Foods World Lacrosse Women’s Championship following a 23-2 win over Chinese Taipei on Tuesday in Tokyo. 

The United States earned the top seed in Pool A and will play Puerto Rico in the quarterfinals on Wednesday at 6:30 pm local time (5:30 am Eastern) as it aims for a record fifth consecutive world championship.

In its first-ever meeting against Chinese Taipei, the U.S. jumped out early behind a first quarter hat track from Madison Taylor. The USA led 6-0 after the opening quarter, scored the game’s first 10 goals and controlled from start to finish. 

Chloe Humphrey had a team-high eight points on five goals and three assists, while Taylor (4g), Sam Apuzzo (2g, 2a), Brigid Duffy (2g, 3a), Ally Kennedy (2g, 3a), Emma LoPinto (2g), Emma Muchnick (2g, 1a) and Izzy Scane (2g, 1a) also had multiple goals.

Wednesday’s quarterfinal will mark the first time that the U.S. women have played Puerto Rico in a world championship at the senior team level.
