The NCAA Division III men's championship game matchup is set, and a Cinderella run is still going.
Defending champion Tufts will meet a Dickinson team that has bottled considerable magic to extend its season.
Here's a recap of how each team got to the title game.
Somebody needs to study Dickinson.
On March 14, Dickinson was routed by RIT 24-7. Yes, 24-7. But the Red Devils are not the same team as they were in March.
Charlie Baughan had four goals and Landen Hyatt had three, and Dickinson took the lead for good at 7-6 on Ethan Hess' third-quarter goal.
RIT's Ian Dinga scored twice in the fourth quarter, cutting the deficit to one at 11-10, but Baughan iced it with 40 seconds left.
The Red Devils' NCAA tournament run now features wins over Denison (in overtime), Salisbury, RPI and RIT. Tufts is the next (and final) Goliath on the schedule.
There was much less fanfare in the other semifinal, as it was more of the same from Tufts, which advanced to its third straight NCAA championship game by thumping Bowdoin.
Tufts (22-0) got six goals and one assist from Jack Regnery, four goals from Max Ettinghausen, and hat tricks from Will Emsing, Brooks Hauser and Garrett Kelly.
