Two Marquette men’s lacrosse players died in a car accident on Friday while three other men’s lacrosse players were taken to a hospital and treated for injuries, according to a post by the University on Saturday morning.

Local media reports identified Scott Michaud and Noah Snyder as the players that died in the accident. According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the 41-year-old driver of the other vehicle involved in the accident has been arrested with charges pending a review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.

Michaud was a sophomore goalie from Springboro, Ohio who was named to the Big East All-Academic team last year. He played high school lacrosse at Springboro High School where he was a two-year captain and earned USA Lacrosse All-America honors.

Snyder was a sophomore attackman from Irving, N.Y. who played high school lacrosse at the Westtown School in Pennsylvania. He played in 13 games last season for Marquette with three starts in the midfield in 2025. He had nine goals and seven assists and he was named to the Big East All-Academic team. He recently competed for the Haudenosaunee Nationals at the World Lacrosse Men’s U20 Championship on Jeju Island, Korea. He had five goals and three assists in six games, helping the team to a fourth-place finish.

The university cancelled all home athletic events this weekend and a mass will be held in honor of the student-athletes at 1 p.m. on Saturday on campus at the Varsity Theatre.
