Calvert Hall, Malvern Prep Set Early Pace as Mid-Atlantic Season Begins
Calvert Hall (Md.) and Malvern Prep (Pa.) each put together 2-0 starts as the Mid-Atlantic Region joined the South and West Regions in kicking off their season. Catch up on the impact of all the regional action.
Below you'll find updates to the USA Lacrosse High School Boys' Regional Top 10 rankings, presented by CWENCH Hydration, in the Mid-Atlantic, South and West, complete with recaps of the teams' recent and upcoming action. The Northeast and Midwest updates will start March 24.

Mid-Atlantic Top 10
Defending MIAA A Conference champ Calvert Hall (Md.) won a pair of games decisively, Archbishop Spalding (Md.) was dominant in its opener and Malvern Prep (Pa.) won a key early season in-region showdown over Boys' Latin (Md.). McDonogh (Md.) also made Travis Holmes a winner in his first game at the coaching helm.
Boys' Latin suffered the only loss among preseason top-10 teams, but the Lakers bounced back immediately with an overtime thriller. They could move up this week when they take on St. John's (D.C.).

1. Lawrenceville (N.J.), 0-0
The Big Red won’t start for another week. They’ve got a top-notch scrimmage against Delbarton (N.J.) for a final tuneup before opening with Calvert Hall (Md.) on March 19. Calvert Hall defeated Lawrenceville last year. There’s plenty of anticipation for this one, and for the season of the Big Red, who have loads of talent. Previous: 1
2. Calvert Hall (Md.), 2-0
The Cardinals peppered Saints Peter & Paul (Md.) 14-3 in their season opener, a great start for the defending MIAA A Conference champions. Caleb Kelly scored a pair of goals and dished out five assists. Cade Marechek, Ryder Scott, Adam Heuston, Jack Williams and Hut Perdew had two goals apiece. Greyson Enrique made a team-high six saves as Calvert Hall played three goalies. It followed that up with a 20-5 win over DeMatha (Md.), with Kelly and Williams notching hat tricks. Kelly also delivered three assists. Connor Sullivan scored twice and assisted on two other goals. Heuston had a goal and three assists. Delcan Butler also had a pair of helpers. Previous: 2
3. Archbishop Spalding (Md.), 1-0
Tampa commit Adam Schwab scored twice and had four assists to lead the Cavaliers to a 14-4 win over Everest (Ontario) in their season opener. Brady Mollot, Zach Gutierrez and Braylen Jones each scored two goals and had two assists apiece. Gavin Carpenter also had two goals and an assist. Spalding tries to keep the momentum going against Kiski (Pa.) and St. Anne’s-Belfield (Va.). Previous: 3
4. Malvern Prep (Pa.), 2-0
Jamie McCracken scored five goals, Thomas Ploszay made five saves and Tommy Onderdonk corralled three ground balls in a 10-8 win over Boys’ Latin (Md.) to open the season. Joey Murphy notched the game-winner. Onderdonk scored a hat trick, Danny Lucovich and Murphy had two goals apiece, Matt Connolly won eight of 11 faceoffs and Eddie Rudloff had five ground balls in an 8-5 win over Loyola Blakefield (Md.) at Penn State. Ploszay saved 59 percent of shots to key a strong defensive day. Previous: 4
5. Haverford School (Pa.), 0-0
The Fords will test their new look defense and lean on returning attackers Chris Burnetta (Harvard) and Conor Morsell (Notre Dame) when they open the season against McDonogh (Md.) on March 10. Haverford will finish the week against a hungry Bullis (Md.) team that won by a goal in its opener. Previous: 5
6. McDonogh (Md.), 1-0
The Eagles gave Travis Holmes a win in his debut as new coach for the Eagles. McDonogh edged IMG Academy (Fla.) 12-10 behind six goals and two assists from Notre Dame commit Hunter Metz. McDonogh goes on the road at Haverford School and Gonzaga (D.C.). Previous: 6
7. Seton Hall Prep (N.J.), 0-0
The Pirates won’t open the season until April. They’ll put their depth on display coming off a state championship season. They return talent with Joe DelMauro (Utah) back on attack with Owen Dunleavy (UMBC) and Bryce Pfeffer (UMBC), Lucas Angel (Fairfield) and Michael Scurti (St. John Fisher) experienced at FOGO, long poles Sean Hayes (St. Joe's) and Jagger Zemachson (Duke) bring physicality, and SSDMs Alex Coakley (Georgetown), Cooper Christian (Sacred Heart) and Derek Sabel (Navy) have been reliable. 8. St. John's (D.C.), 1-0
The Cadets began the year with a 10-5 win over IMG Academy (Fla.). Brendan DuFour scored a hat trick and added an assist. Ryan Inzer went 50 percent and Coby Cantor went 67 percent at X. They’ll travel to Boys’ Latin (Md.) for a big challenge on March 10. Previous: 8
9. Delbarton (N.J.), 0-0
The Green Wave doesn’t open the season until next week. They should be more multi-faceted on offense and come in hungry to prove themselves led by seniors Chase Houser (High Point), Jack Sheridan (Bucknell), Pierce Bolger (Brown), Dara Corr (Cornell), Christian Troczynski (Cornell) and juniors Brandon Fodor (Johns Hopkins) and Kane Quenault (Johns Hopkins). 10. Boys’ Latin (Md.), 1-1
The Lakers split a pair of close games to open their year. After falling to Malvern in their opener by two goals despite a hat trick from TJ Shaw and two goals apiece from Joey Keller and Quinn Lynch, they came from behind to top Gonzaga (D.C.) 8-7 on a goal by Lynch (Hofstra) with 11 seconds to play. Keller scored twice and had three assists. Lynch’s goal was his second of the game. They’ll host St. John’s (D.C.) before a road trip to Florida. Previous: 10

SOUTH Top 10
The South Region welcomed two new teams to the rankings this week.
Bolles (Fla.) and Roswell (Ga.) are undefeated. Roswell will face another Peach State power, Lambert (Ga.), in a battle of unbeatens this week.
St. Andrew's (Fla.) is also perfect at the top of the rankings, while St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.) and Episcopal Dallas (Texas) moved up by keeping their records unblemished as well.

1. St. Andrew's (Fla.), 9-0
The Scots entered a two-week break with a 22-1 win over Cardinal Newman (Fla.). Nick Testa once again provided all the offense St. Andrew’s needed, finishing with three goals and six assists. Jackson Corlew won 15 of 20 draws while picking up eight groundballs. St. Andrew’s returns to play March 17 with a major interstate matchup against Boys Latin (Md.). Previous: 1
2. Highland Park (Texas), 7-1
The Fighting Scots picked up a pair of shutouts to extend their winning streak to six games. Highland Park kicked the weekend off with a 15-0 victory over Memphis University School (Tenn.). The Fighting Scots followed that with an 18-0 blanking of Bentonville (Ark.) last Sunday. Previous: 2
3. St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.), 6-0
The Raiders’ Diego Salazar continues to spark an impressive start to the season. St. Thomas Aquinas blanked Gulliver Prep (Fla.) 17-0, then defeated Pine Crest (Fla.) 13-2 and Plant (Fla.) 12-1. Previous: 4
4. Episcopal Dallas (Texas), 4-0
After defeating Lake Travis (Texas) 15-9, the Eagles survived a furious fourth-quarter rally by rival Dallas Jesuit to earn a 6-5 win. Josh Logan scored three goals and added an assist. ESD rounded out the week with a dominating win over Cascia Hall (Texas). Previous: 5
5. Jupiter (Fla.), 8-1
The Warriors closed out last week with an impressive 13-10 win over previously undefeated Ponte Vedra (Fla.), thanks to a five-goal performance by David Druhot. Jupiter also defeated Bishop Moore (Fla.) 12-8 and St. John Paul II (Fla.) 15-4. Druhot has a team-leading 30 goals. Previous: 6
6. Benjamin (Fla.), 6-2
After trailing by two at halftime, the Buccaneers responded with a big second half to topple Cardinal Newman (Fla.). Benjamin has a big week ahead with matchups against Bishop Moore (Fla.) and Dallas Jesuit (Texas). Previous: 7
7. Lambert (Ga.), 7-0
Sophomore Brody Powell helped the Longhorns maintain their perfect record. He netted a game-winning goal in overtime to lift Lambert over Charlotte Catholic (N.C.) 6-5. He also picked up five goals in a 14-5 win over Cambridge (Ga.). Lambert also defeated Lake Norman (N.C.) 16-4. Previous: 8
8. Bolles (Fla.), 12-0
The Bulldogs are back in the top 10 this year after an incredible start to 2026. Nolan Preston has played a key role in Bolles’ offense, recently scoring five goals against Chiles (Fla.). Bolles is coming off a 7-5 win over Pensacola Catholic (Fla.). Previous: NR
9. Ponte Vedra (Fla.), 8-1
The Sharks lost their first contest of the season, falling to Jupiter 13-10. The defeat came after Ponte Vedra earned a 17-3 win over Bartram Trail (Fla.) and a 13-4 victory over Episcopal Jacksonville (Fla.). Previous: 10
10. Roswell (Ga.), 6-0
The Hornets are off to a perfect start to the year, with wins this season over Montgomery Bell (Tenn.) and Buford (Ga.). Roswell will be tested this week when it faces fellow unbeaten Georgia squad Lambert (Ga.). Previous: NR

West Top 10
No. 9 Mater Dei Santa Ana (Calif.) has gone unbeaten through its first four games, including a win over Brophy Prep (Ariz.). It's new No. 10 Brophy's only loss of the year in eight games.
Elsewhere, Colorado juggernauts Valor Christian and Cherry Creek handed Marin Catholic (Calif.) its first losses of the year, Valor a bit more decisively. Torrey Pines (Calif.) got back on track with back-to-back wins.

1. St. Ignatius (Calif.) 2-0
Idle this week. St. Ignatius opened the season with wins over Torrey Pines (Calif.) and De La Salle (Calif.) and will return to action with a major Colorado trip to face Valor Christian (Colo.) on March 12 and Cherry Creek (Colo.) on March 13. Previous: 1
2. Loyola–Los Angeles (Calif.) 5-1
Loyola continued its strong start with decisive wins over Mira Costa (Calif.), Sierra Canyon (Calif.), and Crespi (Calif.), extending its early-season run against top Southern California competition. Previous: 2
3. Valor Christian (Colo.), 1-0
Valor Christian opened the season with a 16-9 win over Marin Catholic (Calif.), enjoying slightly better weather conditions than some of their Colorado counterparts playing through snow that week. The Eagles’ faceoff unit of Brandon Wright, Hudson Bachman, and Corbin Brigham helped control possession throughout the game. Valor now looks ahead to a big week with matchups against Denver East (Colo.) and St. Ignatius (Calif.). Previous: 4
4. Cherry Creek (Colo.) 1-0
Cherry Creek opened the season with a 4-2 win over Marin Catholic (Calif.) in blizzard conditions. Crews worked to clear the field before the game, and players continued shoveling lines throughout the matchup. Goalie Cole Gallup recorded 16 saves, while senior midfielder Channing Walter added two goals and an assist. The Bruins now enter a challenging stretch of West Region games, including St. Ignatius (Calif.) on March 13 and Loyola-Los Angeles (Calif.) on March 18. Previous: 3
5. Marin Catholic (Calif.), 3-2
Marin Catholic dropped games to Cherry Creek (Colo.), 4-2, and Valor Christian (Colo.), 16-9, during its Colorado road trip. The Wildcats will look to rebound when they face Loyola-Los Angeles (Calif.) on March 20. Previous: 5
6. Sacred Heart Prep (Calif.) 1-0
Sacred Heart Prep opened the season with a 14-5 win over Redwood (Calif.) and will look to continue building momentum as its schedule ramps up. Previous: 7
7. Torrey Pines (Calif.) 2-1
Torrey Pines picked up wins over Coronado (Calif.) and Cathedral Catholic (Calif.) to start the season after falling to St. Ignatius (Calif.) earlier this year. Previous: 8
8. Arapahoe (Colo.), 0-0
Snow along Colorado’s Front Range has delayed Arapahoe’s season opener. The Warriors are scheduled to begin their season against Regis Jesuit (Colo.) on March 10. Previous: 9
9. Mater Dei Santa Ana (Calif.) 4-0
The Monarchs followed up last year’s 15-4 season with a narrow 10-9 win over Brophy Prep (Ariz.) to start 2026. They’ve continued to build momentum with three straight wins, all more comfortable than their opener. They will try to extend their streak against Edison (Calif.) this week. Previous: NR
10. Brophy (Ariz.) 7-1
Brophy picked up two strong wins over Coronado (Calif.) and Cathedral Catholic (Calif.) behind a balanced offensive effort. Senior captain and Dartmouth commit Ross Jacobsen helped power the Broncos, recording six goals and six assists against Coronado and four goals and two assists against Cathedral Catholic.
