Darien New Northeast No. 1 in USA Lacrosse High School Girls' Regional Ranks
St. Stephen's & St. Agnes' (Va.) legendary coach Kathy Jenkins hit a huge milestone but would want the attention to be just on the high school teams, so let's start with each of the newcomers in this week's USA Lacrosse Regional Top 10 rankings, presented by CWENCH Hydration.
In the Northeast Region, it's Sacred Heart Greenwich (Conn.) clawing its way back into the rankings after some early losses. It picked up a big out-of-region win over Episcopal (Pa.) to gain momentum going into another important week. The Northeast also had the biggest matchup of the week with Darien (Conn.) winning in overtime over St. Anthony's (N.Y.) to vault to No. 1, the only region to have a change at the top.
Another traditional power, McDonough (Md.), is back in the Mid-Atlantic rankings. The Eagles also had some troubling losses before returning to form last week. They'll be tested more mightily this week. A Penn Charter (Pa.) sweep and losses by Archbishop Spalding (Md.) and Good Counsel (Md.) sent the region spinning.
Lambert (Ga.) has put together a terrific season to take the last spot in the South. The Longhorns have 11 wins and can boost themselves further as they look toward the postseason. Anderson (Texas) also made a small move up after returning to action with three wins.
Ohio has gotten quite competitive at the top. Hudson and Mariemont earned Midwest rankings with perfect starts to their years. To do so, they had to knock off some strong competition.
Jesuit Portland (Ore.) is another unbeaten that is new. It takes a spot in the West ahead of a key showdown in the state. Fairview (Colo.) also climbed ahead of a big in-state matchup with Valor Christian (Colo.).
Then there's Jenkins, who has her own No. 1 ranking. She won her 900th career win last week, tops for any high school coach in history. It’s an incredible number for Jenkins, who is in the midst of her 50th season. The Saints are unbeaten at 13-0 after sweeping a pair of games at their Spring Fling on Saturday. That puts her at 903.
Below you'll find this week's USA Lacrosse High School Girls' Regional Top 10 updates for the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, Midwest and West regions, complete with recaps of the teams' recent and upcoming games.
Compiled by USA Lacrosse writers with input from coaches around the country, rankings and records reflect results as of previous Sunday.
NORTHEAST Top 10

Mid-Atlantic Top 10
Five of the top seven and six of the top 10 Mid-Atlantic teams all lost last week. Now, some of them came against other top-ranked programs, like Penn Charter (Pa.) picked up impactful wins by knocking off Agnes Irwin (Pa.) and Academy of Notre Dame (Pa.).
Others came out of region, like Episcopal (Pa.) falling at the hands of a Sacred Heart Greenwich (Conn.) team that was hungry for a big win after some disappointing early losses. The same might be said for St. Paul’s (Md.) which handed Archbishop Spalding (Md.) their first loss, and St. Anne’s-Belfield (Va.) which became the first team to top Good Counsel (Md.) in St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes’ (Va.) 33rd annual Spring Fling.
When the smoke cleared, Maryvale stands alone atop the IAAM unbeaten and at the top of the region rankings. The Lions have taken care of business each week and did so again with two more sizable wins.
Conestoga (Pa.) also has not slipped up all season. The Pioneers are still unbeaten as they head into a week with a big matchup against an Archbishop Carroll (Pa.) squad that is looking to move up.
Back into the rankings is McDonogh (Md.) which swept its conference games last week. The Eagles have a chance to climb higher with a win in a key conference/region showdown against Archbishop Spalding. Elsewhere, it's Agnes Irwin that has the big conference week with both Notre Dame and Episcopal within days of each other.
Our Mid-Atlantic rankings cover D.C., Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia.

Reese deposited four goals and supplied four helpers, Emma Mohn scored five times and Carly Aldridge had four goals and two assists in a 19-4 win over Manheim. Anderson (Texas) moved up one spot after coming out of a long layoff with three straight wins to gain momentum. Lambert (Ga.) is the lone newcomer in the South. The Longhorns have only lost to two Top-10 teams and they are set up for a deep playoff run.
The top two teams, American Heritage-Delray (Fla.) and Lake Highland (Fla.), along with Episcopal Jacksonville (Fla.) all begin their postseason marches this week.
Our South rankings cover the region from North Carolina south to Florida and west to Texas.

Midwest Top 10
The first seven spots remain the same, though there were some losses. That's because No. 1 New Trier (Ill.) and No. 3 Loyola Academy (Ill.) went out of region to challenge themselves. Both were competitive while splitting their trips to affirm they are elite in the Midwest.
A pair of Ohio unbeatens are new to the rankings. Hudson (Ohio) and Mariemont (Ohio) are both perfect with some impressive wins to their resumes. Hudson, for example, held off New Albany (Ohio) in a showdown of strong squads last week. This week, Mariemont will face St. Francis DeSales (Ohio) in a Top-10 battle.
Prior Lake (Minn.) finally opened its season, and it was a great start in an exciting matchup. Prior Lake edged by Stillwater (Minn.) in a rematch of last year's state final. They have more tough in-state competition ahead.
Our Midwest rankings cover Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio and Wisconsin.
1. New Trier (Ill.), 3-2
The Trevians were highly competitive against some of the Golden State’s best, rallying from a 10-goal loss to Coronado to top Torrey Pines and come within two of La Costa Canyon. A rematch of last year’s classic state title game against Olentangy Liberty looms April 14. Previous: 2
3. Loyola Academy (Ill.), 7-4
The Ramblers proved they could compete with just about anyone on their 2-3 East Coast trip, beating Bishop Ireton (Va.) and National Cathedral (D.C.), falling to St. John’s (D.C.) and No. 16 St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes (Va.) by a goal and losing to No. 19 Georgetown Visitation (D.C.) by two. West Top 10
Coronado (Calif.) and La Costa Canyon (Calif.) earned solid wins in the West Region. Coronado pushed up to No. 3 while La Costa Canyon stopped a strong Santa Margarita (Calif.) team.
Fairview (Colo.) continued to climb in the rankings. They could vault higher if they can pull off a win over Valor Christian (Colo.) to start the week in the best West matchup of the week.
Jesuit Portland (Ore.) has been perfect in the early going to earn a spot in the rankings this week. They'll take on another unbeaten, Grant (Ore.), in one of the state's best rivalries.
Our West rankings cover the Mountain, Pacific and Northwest regions and at least part of the Southwest.
1. Sacred Heart Prep (Calif.), 9-0
Sacred Heart Prep stays at the top after backing up last week’s win over Valor Christian (Colo.) with another strong performance in Colorado. That trip continues to stand out as the best stretch of results in the region. They’ve shown they can control games and close them out, and right now they still look like the most complete team in the West. Previous: 1
2. Valor Christian (Colo.), 7-2
Valor continues to handle business since the loss to Sacred Heart Prep (Calif.), highlighted by a strong 13-6 win over Regis Jesuit (Colo.). That result adds another quality win to an already strong résumé. They remain right in the mix at the top and look like a team capable of closing the gap. Previous: 2
3. Coronado (Calif.), 8-3
Coronado moves up after wins over La Jolla (Calif.) and New Trier (Ill.) and this feels like a natural shift. They’ve consistently played strong competition, including out-of-region games, and have held their own. With other teams showing inconsistency, they’ve done enough to move into the top three. Previous: 5
4. La Costa Canyon (Calif.), 9-1
La Costa Canyon defeated a ranked Santa Margarita (Calif.) team, Marin Catholic (Calif.) and New Trier (Ill.) to remain firmly in the top tier. The body of work is still strong, especially with wins over top California teams. Previous: 3
5. St. Ignatius (Calif.), 10-3
St. Ignatius drops a spot after a tougher stretch against some Mid-Atlantic programs. They’ve proven they can compete with strong teams, but recent results create a bit of separation from the top group. They’re still firmly in this tier. Previous: 4
6. Santa Margarita (Calif.), 11-2
Santa Margarita continues to build momentum, highlighted by a dominant 17-6 win over Torrey Pines (Calif.). Maddy Yoo led the way with a career-high seven goals, while Bella Hamo added four goals, five assists, and controlled nine draws. Combined with the earlier win over Mira Costa (Calif.), this is a team trending up. Previous: 7
7. Redwood (Calif.), 9-3
Redwood did not play a game last week, but remains right in the mix. They’ve been competitive in their losses and have played a strong schedule. It still feels like they’re just one result away from pushing higher. Previous: 6
8. Fairview (Colo.), 7-1
Fairview continues to climb after another strong stretch with wins. Their only loss still came against a top out-of-state opponent, and they battled out a close win against a talented Colorado Academy (Colo.) team and Ralston Valley (Colo.) last week. They’re starting to build a case as one of the more consistent teams in the region. Previous: 10
9. Mira Costa (Calif.), 11-3
Mira Costa remains one of the tougher teams to evaluate. They have quality wins, but the inconsistency continues to show up. They stay in the rankings, but sit just behind teams with cleaner recent results. Previous: 8
10. Jesuit Portland (Ore.), 5-0
Jesuit Portland enters the rankings after a strong start and proven success. They haven’t been tested the same way as some California teams yet, but the results and data make them hard to ignore. This is a team worth watching moving forward. Previous: NR
