St. Anthony's (N.Y.) had won 51 straight games until Darien (Conn.) scored in the second overtime for a historic win early in its season. The victory opened the door for unbeaten and largely unchallenged Maryvale (Md.) to move up a spot to No. 1 in this week's USA Lacrosse High School Girls' National Top 25, presented by CWENCH Hydration.

Maryvale has played just one game decided by closer than seven goals. The Lions have a 140-47 scoring advantage through 10 games this season, and there's no end of their domination in sight. Only one team in their remaining six games has a winning record.

There are two newcomers in the Top 25 this week. Sacred Heart Greenwich (Conn.) has bounced back from a slow start to even its record. Its most significant win coming into this week was over an established Episcopal (Pa.) team that was ranked sixth. Northport (N.Y.) is also new to the national rankings. The Tigers are 4-0, part of a pack of strong New York publics off to fast starts. One of those, Garden City (N.Y.), hosts Darien to start the week.

Penn Charter (Pa.) made a big climb at the expense of league foes Agnes Irwin (Pa.) and Academy of Notre Dame (Pa.). Archbishop Spalding (Md.) and Good Counsel (Md.) dropped after suffering their first losses in the most significant other moves in the rankings. Spalding will try to bounce back this week against McDonogh (Md.) in a matchup that has regional and national impact. McDonogh also faces St. Mary's (Md.) in another Top 25 matchup.

St. Stephen's & St. Agnes (Va.) gave head coach Kathy Jenkins her historic 900th career win. The Saints are one of the unbeatens in the Top 25 along with the aforementioned Maryvale, Darien and Northport, as well as Phillips Andover (Mass.), Sayville (N.Y.), Conestoga (Pa.), Nyack (N.Y.), Manhasset (N.Y.), Suffern (N.Y.) and Sacred Heart Prep (Calif.)
