The USA Lacrosse High School Girls' National Game of the Week just happens to be at USA Lacrosse this week.
It doesn't get any better than No. 2 Episcopal (Pa.) vs. No. 3 McDonogh (Md.), featuring a combined 21 Division I commits. They'll play each other Thursday at 5:30 p.m. Eastern at USA Lacrosse's Tierney Field, a game that will be streamed live on Go Live Sports.
Each Thursday here at USA Lacrosse Magazine, we’ll highlight upcoming games to watch in our respective regions of coverage. National rankings denoted below in National Game of the Week, regional rankings denoted in Regional Games of the Week.
No. 2 Episcopal (Pa.) (6-0) vs. No. 3 McDonogh (Md.) (5-0)
Thursday, 5:30 p.m. EDT | National Top 25
The Churchwomen have been unstoppable thus far, defeating their six opponents by a combined 94-35 margin. The Eagles might be more tested. This is their third game against a nationally ranked foe. They'll be out for revenge after falling to Episcopal 7-6 last year, a game won on a free position with 5.3 seconds remaining.
No. 10 St. Anne’s Belfield (Va.) (2-3) at Georgetown Visitation (D.C.) (1-3)
Friday 4:15 p.m. EDT | Mid-Atlantic Top 10
You might wonder why we're highlighting a pair of three-loss teams. Well, STAB's losses were to nationally ranked McDonogh (Md.) (by a goal) and IMG Academy (Fla.) and up-and-coming St. John's (D.C.). Visitation's are to McDonogh (Md,), Maryvale (Md.) and American Heritage-Delray (Fla.), all National Top 25 teams. They're battled tested.
No. 2 IMG Academy (Fla.) (7-2) vs. Glenelg Country (Md.)
Friday, 5 p.m. EDT | South Top 10
IMG has recovered from losses to McDonogh (Md.) and Sacred Heart Greenwich (Colo.) by defeating Colorado Academy (Colo.) and Olentangy Liberty (Ohio) by a combined 34-16 margin. Glenelg Country has dropped three straight but has the pedigree to pull an upset.
Grand Rapids Catholic Central (Mich.) (1-0) at Detroit Country Day (Mich.) (2-0)
Friday, 6:30 p.m. EDT | Midwest Top 10
It's a rematch of the 2024 Division II state championship game, won in thrilling fashion (10-9 final) by Catholic Central, which stretched its winning streak to 24 games after a season-opening defeat of Caledonia (Mich.).
No. 2 St. Ignatius (Calif.) (7-0) at No. 5 Oak Ridge (Calif.) (9-1)
Saturday, 3 p.m. EDT | West Top 10
Both teams will play before Saturday's showdown, with St. Ignatius taking on St. Francis Mountain View and Oak Ridge meeting Granite Bay. Oak Ridge won last year's encounter 9-7.
