Potomac (Va.) downed a pair of regional foes to bolster its resume and move with rising Rye (N.Y.) into the USA Lacrosse High School Girls' National Top 25.
Potomac defeated Penn Charter (Pa.) and St. Anne's-Belfield (Va.) to add to an impressive start. Rye looked dominant with a combined 25-goal edge in back-to-back wins to start the year.
Episcopal (Pa.) cemented its spot at No. 2 with a win over McDonogh (Md.) in a huge showdown. The Churchwomen have been convincing in their fast start to the season.
Stone Ridge (Md.) also helped itself with an out-of-region win over American Heritage-Delray (Fla.), only the second loss this year for the Florida power. Sacred Heart Greenwich (Conn.) slid up to No. 9 after remaining perfect against strong competition. One opponent it defeated was Penn Charter (Pa.), which slipped down after a pair of losses.
There were minor moves in the second half of the rankings. There are still a fair number of ranked teams waiting to show their abilities and they will spring into action as the calendar turns to April while some South teams will start gearing up for their playoffs shortly.
