Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. It’s time to celebrate.

National Celebrate Lacrosse Week kicked off on Saturday and nearly 100 free Pick Up & Play clinics will be held around the country by next Sunday. See how you can get involved.

2. The start of something new.

The 2024 U.S. Women’s Box Training Team held its first training camp this weekend in Whitehall, Pa. The team will hold two more training camps before the end of the year as it preps for the 2024 World Lacrosse Box Championships in Utica, N.Y. next September.

3. Let’s talk facilities.

Marquette men’s and women’s lacrosse teams will eventually call a new stadium home in the Iron District MKE development, which just received a $9.3 million grant.

4. Hanging up the cleats.

Two-time U.S. men’s box team member Brett Manney has announced his retirement from the NLL.

WHAT WE’RE READING

• The importance of lacrosse leaders coming together with the Elevate28 initiative.

• The 2023 Michael R. Breschi scholarship recipients are Ohio native Kirsten Kelley (Palm Beach Atlantic) and New York’s Stephen Finnell Jr. (Duke).

• Buffalo Bandits star Dhane Smith, the 2023 NLL Championship MVP, has signed a five-year contract with the team.

• Lindsey Frank, a graduate student at Northwestern who starred at Richmond, continued her impressive two-sport display helping the Wildcats win the Big Ten field hockey title over the weekend. We wrote about her earlier this fall.

• Chris Bates, head coach of the PLL champion Archers, is the new boys’ lacrosse coach at St. Andrew’s School in Delaware.

• Margaret Wolford, a former Fresno player and experienced college coach, has joined the staff at Kent State as an assistant women’s lacrosse coach.
