Don Bosco (N.J.) Upset Shakes Up High School Boys' National Top 25
Don Bosco will return to the Non-Public state final as a ranked team in the USA Lacrosse High School Boys' National Top 25.
The Ironmen won their semifinal matchup against a Delbarton (N.J.) team that had some accrued some significant wins this season. Don Bosco seemed to revive after a weather delay halted the game with the Ironmen down three goals in the first quarter. They’ll go for a second straight title now as the No. 11 team in the country. They’ll have to take on a hungry No. 20 Seton Hall Prep (N.J.) that has been solid all season.
No. 18 Half Hollow Hills (N.Y.) remains unbeaten after two more wins. James Bruno and Anthony Raio combined for seven goals as they moved on to the Class A semifinals. The win came after a dramatic last-second goal gave them a win over Massapequa (N.Y.) in a significant test.
The only other active team in the Top 25 was No. 25 Garden City (N.Y.). The Trojans pulled away for a 15-11 win over East Islip (N.Y.) for their 20th Long Island championship, then Garden City had an easier time with Horace Greeley (N.Y.) in the NYS Southeast Class B regional final for their 19th win this season.
The remainder of the latest Top 25 has concluded their seasons.
