Conestoga (Pa.) Swoops Into USA Lacrosse High School Girls' National Top 25

Parity has hit the USA Lacrosse High School Girls' National Top 25, presented by CWENCH Hydration.

What else can explain three new teams entering the rankings and only one of them coming out of the week unblemished? 

Valor Christian (Colo.) gained huge traction by becoming the first team to upend American Heritage-Delray (Fla.) this year. The euphoria was short-lived, when IMG Academy (Fla.) stifled Valor the next game while previously ranked Heritage rebounded with a huge win over Sacred Heart Greenwich (Conn.), which as making its 2026 debut.

Conestoga (Pa.) made the highest debut after getting by a pair of Inter-Ac League teams — Agnes Irwin (Pa.) and Academy of Notre Dame (Pa.) — that were both Top 25. It's a huge confidence builder for 'Stoga, which has a new coach, Jaclyn Collins, though former coach Amy Orcutt isn't far. Her daughter, Price Orcutt, has been an early star.

Garden City (N.Y.) picked up the final spot in the rankings. The Trojans lost by just one goal to Bayport-Blue Point (N.Y.) in the season opener for both teams. The national scene stands to be in flux for the next few weeks with more of the top teams crossing regions and testing themselves in some of the year's best matchups.
