Bayport-Blue Point (N.Y.) picked up a big win to move into the top 10, and Cold Spring Harbor (N.Y.) is the only newcomer in the latest USA Lacrosse High School Girls' National Top 25.

Tournament action continues to impact the rankings, and Bayport-Blue Point took advantage and became the first team to defeat Nyack (N.Y.) this year. A 15-9 win was decisive and elevated the Phantoms to No. 8. Two weeks ago, they avenged their one loss of the season when they beat Rocky Point (N.Y.). The win over Nyack ran their winning streak to 10.

No. 13 Nyack ends an incredible season at 19-1 after it had pulled out a 13-12 win over Rye (N.Y.) on Kate Gould’s goal with 22 seconds left in the Section 1 Class C Girls Lacrosse Championship. Nyack trailed by four goals in the fourth quarter before rallying to win.

Cold Spring Harbor (N.Y.) finds a spot at No. 25 after earning their fifth straight Long Island Class D crown. It beat Mattituck (N.Y.) 18-7 in the championship game, then it took care of Pleasantville (N.Y.) in the Class D quarterfinals to set up a game against South Jefferson (N.Y.) for a chance at a finals berth. South Jefferson’s only loss came against No. 18 Cicero-North Syracuse (N.Y.).

No. 12 Darien (Conn.), fresh off its 20th FCIAC title in program history, advanced to the semifinals of the CIAC Class LL after a dominant quarterfinal win. The Blue Wave next face Ridgefield (Conn.).

No. 13 Bayport-Blue Point (N.Y.) finds itself in a familiar spot as well. The Phantoms won their fifth county crown in six years when they held off Sayville (N.Y.).

No. 15 Chatham (N.J.) picked up another pair of wins to move into their group state tournament final. The Cougars take on a tough challenger in a Summit (N.J.) team that won its group title last year before moving up this season.

Cicero-North Syracuse held off West Genesee (N.Y.) 19-18 in a thrilling Section III Class A championship. West Genesee had won the past two Class B section titles. After a dominant win over Niskayuna (N.Y.), they are set to take on a revenge-minded Penfield (N.Y.) team that they saw in the season opener. Cicero-North Syracuse won that one in overtime.

No. 22 Garden City (N.Y.) continues to pile up wins. They’re up to 15 in a row after defeating formerly ranked Smithtown West (N.Y.) in the Long Island Class B final and then cruising by Yorktown (N.Y.) into the class semifinals.
