December 6, 2023
Kenny DeJohn

Welcome to #BestOfLacrosse2023. Help us celebrate the past year of lacrosse by voting in 15 polls over 15 weekdays in December, beginning Monday, Dec. 4. All voting will be conducted on X (@usalacrossemag), and fans will have 24 hours to make their selections.

For more information — including upcoming categories, rules and more — check out our introductory post to #BestOfLacrosse2023.

We live in an age of content. Clicks, engagements, impressions — they’re what mattered most in 2023.

The lacrosse space is littered with talented creators of all kinds. Sideline highlight edits are at an all-time high in terms of quality, photography is better than ever and social media stars are using their rising popularity to grow the game. To choose just four nominees for the following category was not easy — but we did it.

Here are the nominees for Best in Content.

BEST IN CONTENT

CALEB HAMMETT AKA THE DRIP KING

The Drip King became a social media sensation in 2023, rising in popularity with his signature eye black and positivity on TikTok. Known by day as Caleb Hammett, a UMass faceoff ace, The Drip King has 2.2 million followers on TikTok and was the subject of this September story on usalaxmagazine.com.

MITCHELL PEHLKE

A full-time content creator and influencer following his playing days at Ohio State, Pehlke might be the YouTube king of the lacrosse world. He has nearly 65,000 subscribers on the platform and specializes in behind the scenes content and collabs with some of the brightest stars in lacrosse.

KAIT DEVIR

The visual storyteller of Athletes Unlimited Lacrosse, Kait Devir is a USC goalie with a budding career in photography. If you read anything about Athletes Unlimited Lacrosse during the summer season, there is a strong chance her photos are attached to bring the piece to life.

TARI KANDEMIRI & AMARI POLLARD

The hosts of “Sound On with Tari and Amari” — an ESPN show that often runs during halftime of marquee women’s lacrosse matchups — Tari Kandemiri and Amari Pollard bridge the gap between fandom and analysis on a weekly basis. Their positivity and joy of lacrosse help grow the women’s game and shine a light on its best stories and people.
