Chilling Temperatures Lead to Mass Schedule Changes on Opening Weekend

The freezing temperatures gripping much of eastern portion of the country has wreaked havoc on the opening weekend of the NCAA men's lacrosse season. 

Navy announced Wednesday that its season-opener against High Point on Saturday in Annapolis was called off due to frigid temperatures. More announcements have followed, including Thursday evening's announcement that a scheduled ESPNU game with Robert Morris at Johns Hopkins has been postponed to Monday.

Here's the latest on the changes to this weekend's schedule and broadcast information will be updated on our TV Listings page as it becomes available.

Saturday changes

  • Bellarmine at Duke has been moved to Monday
  • UMass at Army moved indoors, will be broadcast on YouTube at 11 am
  • Providence at Holy Cross moved indoors, will be broadcast on YouTube at 4:30 pm
  • Mercyhurst at Michigan moved indoors to Adrian, Mich.
  • Queens at Mount St. Mary's was originally switched to Charlotte, but has now been postponed with no makeup date set
  • Manhattan at Bucknell moved to Penn State and will be played on Sunday
  • Georgetown at Loyola postponed to March 17
  • Maryland at Richmond postponed to a date TBD
  • St. Joseph's at NJIT canceled
  • Utah at Delaware moved to Friday and indoors
  • Robert Morris at Johns Hopkins moved to Monday, broadcast info TBA
  • Iona at Hofstra postponed to Monday and now played at Iona. Broadcast info TBA

Sunday changes

  • North Carolina at Towson canceled 
  • Colgate at Penn State moved indoors
  • Detroit Mercy at Ohio State moved indoors
