Every bit of Michael Gianforcaro's 12 saves were needed in North Carolina's 8-7 win over Duke.
The Princeton transfer has made his presence felt in his first season in Chapel Hill, saving shots at a 54.6 percent rate.
He made five of his 12 saves in the fourth quarter, including a pair of saves on the same possession inside the final three minutes.
At 9-2, North Carolina has the makings of a championship weekend contender. The Tar Heels can go as far as Gianforcaro takes them.
Cayden Onagi, Limestone
It was business as usual for Onagi in a 13-8 win over Catawba. The Maryland transfer produced six goals and four assists, with all of his goal-scoring damage coming in the second and third quarters.
He scored three goals in less than two minutes late in the third quarter, extending the Limestone lead to 13-6.
Casey Ryan, Bowdoin
Ryan posted a career-high 10 points (4G, 6A) in a 19-8 win over Williams, plus he added three ground balls for good measure.
Ryan either scored or assisted each of Bowdoin's first five goals.
