Maryland Tops USA Lacrosse Division I Men's Way-Early Top 25

Last week, USA Lacrosse Magazine revealed the Way-Early Top 25 for the 2026 Division I men’s lacrosse season.

It was an aptly-titled exercise. The summer is just reaching the midpoint of July, and the transfer portal has not fully settled. We’ve yet to even sniff fall ball, where teams actually begin to take shape.

While our USA Lacrosse Preseason Top 20 might look slightly different in a few months, this provides the groundwork. And our Way-Early No. 1 probably has a good shot at being the preseason No. 1, too. That would be Maryland, the NCAA runner-up that brings in two big Yale transfers on offense and returns a significant portion of the team that made yet another Memorial Day run.

We released the Way-Early Top 25 in segments last week. So, for your convenience, check out the full Top 25 right here.
