Moe Sobel, the National Lacrosse Federation's No. 1 recruit in the Class of 2027 and the top goalie recruit in the country overall, announced Monday his commitment to Syracuse.
The 6-4, 190-pound netminder will take his talents to IMG Academy (Fla.) for his junior and senior seasons after honing his craft at Springside Chestnut Hill (Pa.) as a freshman and sophomore. A USA Lacrosse All-American as a sophomore, Sobel "is one of the best and most unique goalie prospects that the game has seen," according to the NLF.
Sobel saved 68 percent of shots as a sophomore and has starred for PrimeTime Lacrosse on the club circuit.
Joey Spallina was the last No. 1 recruit to choose Syracuse (2022). Sobel is ranked seventh overall in his class by Inside Lacrosse and fifth overall by Prep Network.
