Pfeiffer graduate student Hayden Polakowski was involved in a plane crash in South Carolina on July 2 and subsequently airlifted to Augusta Burn Center for treatment, according to a GoFundMe established in his support.

"He is now undergoing extensive and serious surgeries," the GoFundMe reads. "Hayden faces a long road ahead, with ongoing treatments, surgeries, and more challenges as he works toward recovery."

The GoFundMe is on behalf of both the Pfeiffer and Dubuque men's teams. Polakowski, a defender from Las Vegas, joined Pfeiffer ahead of the 2026 season and played in four games — all starts — causing three turnovers and picking up three ground balls.

He started 32 of his 51 career games at Dubuque, where he majored in Flight Operations & Aviation Management. He caused 57 turnovers with 76 ground balls in his three years there.

As of this writing, the GoFundMe has raised close to $14,000 with a goal of $50,000. You can donate here.
