NCAA Reveals Final Regional Rankings for D-II Men’s, Women’s Lacrosse
The NCAA released its third and final regional rankings on Wednesday for NCAA Division II men’s and women’s lacrosse, reflecting game results through April 27.
On the women’s side, the NCAA ranks the top eight teams from each of the four geographic regions. The four No. 1-ranked teams remain unchanged from last week. They are: West Chester (Atlantic Region), Pace (East), Tampa (South), and Maryville (Midwest).
The NCAA regional rankings help determine participants and seedings for the NCAA tournament. This year’s expanded 24-team women’s tournament will feature 12 teams that earn automatic qualification as conference champions, and 12 additional teams selected at-large by the national committee.
Tampa (17-1) secured its AQ last Sunday by winning the Sunshine State Conference championship. West Chester, Pace and Maryville are all the top seeds in their respective conference tournaments this week.
The NCAA tournament bracket will be announced at 8:30 p.m. Eastern on Sunday, May 4, with first-round games beginning May 8. The top two seeds in each region receive a first-round bye.
