Doherty, Tiemann, Hanzsche are USA Lacrosse Women's Players of the Week

This season, USA Lacrosse will celebrate the accomplishments of players across Divisions I, II and III each Tuesday with Player of the Week recognition.

Players of the Week are selected by USA Lacrosse Magazine staff and contributors based on a variety of factors, including individual performance and impact on team success.

DIVISION I

Mary Kelly Doherty, Notre Dame

Doherty scored two of her four goals in the final five minutes, including the winner with 15 seconds left, in a big win for Notre Dame over Boston College. She controlled a game-high six draws and added a ground ball for good measure.

It was the second time in three days Doherty netted a winner in the final minute. On Wednesday against Brown, she scored the winning goal with 36 seconds left, finishing the night with three goals, three assists and eight draw controls.

DIVISION II

Sydney Tiemann, Maryville

Tiemann helped sparked the Saints' dominant 18-6 win at No. 4 Regis, registering her second 10-point game of the season with six goals and four assists. Last year's national scoring champion, Tiemann currently ranks third in the nation with 44 goals and 59 points through eight games for undefeated Maryville.

DIVISION III

Mary Hanzsche, Salisbury

In wins over Gettysburg and Roanoke, Hanzsche combined for five goals and five assists. Her best performance came against the Bullets. She had four goals and three assists in that 16-7 win, helping Salisbury rise two spots in the USA Lacrosse Division III Top 20.
