East Carolina announced Monday that head coach Brittany Dipper will not have her contract renewed when it expires at the end of June. She went 19-31 in three seasons after replacing Amanda Moore, who left ECU to take the head job at Ohio State.
The Pirates went 8-9 this season, marking a third consecutive losing season.
Dipper, a former standout goalie at Maryland, began her coaching career at Stetson as an assistant for two years — though she was named the interim head coach for the final three months of her tenure there. She then spent four years at Elon before heading to Boston University. She was then hired by Virginia before taking the ECU job after the 2023 season.
East Carolina athletic director Jon Gilbert said a national search will begin immediately for a replacement.
