When you win as many draws as Maddie Epke does, goals are bound to follow.
Epke, the junior All-American at James Madison, posted gaudy numbers last week for the Dukes. In a 16-11 win at Georgetown, she produced six goals, two assists and nine draw controls. In an 18-4 win over Temple, she one-upped herself with eight goals, one assist and 15 draw controls.
She shot 14-for-22 last week, improving her shooting percentage to a career-best 47.9 percent. She is the USA Lacrosse Division I Women's Player of the Week.
Breonna Mason, CSU Pueblo
Sophomore goalie Breonna Mason helped CSU Pueblo snap a six-game losing streak by matching her career-high 23 saves in a 16-15 overtime win Saturday over Fort Lewis. Mason had initially established her new career-best mark just six days earlier in a loss against No. 14 Regis.
Following her back-to-back 23-save outings, Mason currently leads the nation in total saves (167) and saves per game (13.92).
Natalie Daniels, William Smith
In the team’s lone game of the week, a 17-5 victory over Liberty Conference foe Ithaca, Daniels scored six goals, added one assist, and earned 14 draw controls. She sits in second place in program history in draw controls, only 13 behind former teammate Maddie Montgomery.
