Ashley Mackin could not be stopped last week as Johns Hopkins continued its torrid stretch.
First, Mackin buried nine goals in a 17-8 win over James Madison. That was merely the appetizer. She followed with eight goals and three assists in a 22-8 win over Oregon.
Those 17 goals came on just 24 shots.
Mackin has been the offensive centerpiece for the 8-2 Blue Jays with 53 goals and 17 assists. She is the USA Lacrosse Division I Women's Player of the Week.
Keri Barnett, West Chester
The senior midfielder recorded 13 goals and 15 points in two games to keep the top-ranked Golden Rams undefeated. After starting the week with a five-goal performance against No. 18 Kutztown, Barnett followed with an eight-goal outing against Shepherd.
With 53 goals through nine games, Barnett leads the PSAC in both goals (5.89 per game) and points (7.11).
Clare Connolly, Babson
The senior dominated the draw, helping the Beavers earn two NEWMAC competitions by a wide margin. In the team’s 24-2 victory over Mount Holyoke, Connolly earned a career-best 21 draw controls. She almost equaled that total three nights later when she tallied 20 draw controls in a 27-6 victory over Emerson; she also scored three goals for her fourth hat trick of the season.
