Martello, Stanislawczyk, Hanzsche are USA Lacrosse Women's Players of the Week

This season, USA Lacrosse will celebrate the accomplishments of players across Divisions I, II and III each Tuesday with Player of the Week recognition.

Players of the Week are selected by USA Lacrosse Magazine staff and contributors based on a variety of factors, including individual performance and impact on team success.

DIVISION I

Kayla Martello, Boston College

Martello put on a clutch shooting masterclass to secure a second straight ACC championship for Boston College, scoring six goals on six shots and adding in an assist on a precision pass to Emma LoPinto on the crease.

Boston College needed a clutch performer to step up offensively while the defense was styming Syracuse in the second half, and Martello provided the knockout punches.

DIVISION II

Hannah Stanislawczyk, West Chester

The All-American midfielder tallied 16 goals and 18 points in two games to help No. 1 West Chester improve to 15-0 overall. Following a six-goal effort in a win over No. 17 East Stroudsburg to start the week, Stanislawczyk followed with a career-best 10-goal performance three days later against Shepherd. 

With 282 career goals, the senior has a chance to become just the third player in Division II history to reach 300 goals.

DIVISION III

Mary Hanzsche, Salisbury

Hanzsche, a senior, had seven points (4G, 3A) in Salisbury’s 18-11 win over Christopher Newport on Senior Day. She added two goals and one assist earlier last week against Mary Washington.

Hanzsche has 24 goals and 27 assists entering the postseason.
