This season, USA Lacrosse will celebrate the accomplishments of players across Divisions I, II and III each Tuesday with Player of the Week recognition.

Players of the Week are selected by USA Lacrosse Magazine staff and contributors based on a variety of factors, including individual performance and impact on team success.

DIVISION I

Morgan Schwab, Virginia

It was a big week for assist records in Charlottesville, and Schwab took down two of them. The senior from Fairport, N.Y., had eight assists — a single-game program record — in a big win over Richmond before setting the Virginia career assist mark in a massive win over Notre Dame.

On the week, Schwab produced two goals and 12 assists.

DIVISION II

Emily Mitarotonda, East Stroudsburg

It was quite a week for the three-time All-America midfielder, who matched her career-high of eight points in back-to-back victories. She tallied six goals and two assists in a 12-11 overtime win over Roberts Wesleyan and became ESU's career points leader with 271.

Four days later, Mitarotonda led the Warriors in their 11-10 comeback victory over No. 2 Adelphi with another impressive performance of seven goals, one assist, seven caused turnovers, five ground balls and five draw controls.

DIVISION III

Maddie Montgomery, William Smith

William Smith climbed a spot to No. 2 in the USA Lacrosse Division III Top 20 this week, in large part because of Montgomery. The USA Lacrosse Preseason Player of the Year contributed 10 goals, one assist and 15 draw controls in a 2-0 week for the Herons.

He had six goals and 12 draw controls against Geneseo before four goals, one assist and three draw controls against Cortland.
