Three of the top four-ranked teams in the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference fell in regional competition last week, making way for two of the new teams in this week’s Nike/USA Lacrosse High School Boys’ National Top 25.
Wilton (Conn.) went from unranked to No. 20 after defeating Darien (Conn.) and New Canaan (Conn.) en route to its first FCIAC championship in 24 years.
Cheshire (Conn.), meanwhile, upset Fairfield Prep (Conn.) in the SCC final to jump in at No. 24.
Next up: the CIAC state tournament. First-round games are Wednesday.
Elsewhere, surging Shoreham-Wading River (N.Y.) knocked off Bayport-Blue Point (N.Y.) for its sixth straight win the No. 21 spot in the national rankings, while Bishop Guertin (N.H.) rounds out the list at No. 25.
