The first week of South Region rankings brings some significant changes based on how a couple of early top-10 matchups shook out. Benjamin (Fla.) made a big statement and a huge jump with a win over previous No. 1 St. Andrew’s (Fla.). Their win also meant a new No. 1 Lake Mary (Fla.).
Georgia also was treated to a major showdown. Roswell won handily over Buford to swap spots essentially.
St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.), IMG Academy (Fla.) and Westlake (Texas) all are unbeaten in the early going. Highland Park (Texas) dropped only one spot after a loss because it came against one of the country’s top programs, Culver Academy (Ind.).

1. Lake Mary (Fla.), 3-0
The Rams kicked off the 2025 season with three dominating wins. Lake Mary first defeated Hagerty (Fla.), 17-1, then topped Windermere (Fla.), 18-3, and Timbercreek (Fla.), 14-1. Previous: 2
2. Benjamin (Fla.), 5-0
The Buccaneers had a dream start to the season, including a 17-11 win over defending state champs St. Andrew’s (Fla.). The season also included early wins over Dwyer (Fla.), Oxbridge Academy (Fla.), Jupiter (Fla.) 18-9, and Loyola (Calif.) 14-3. Jayden Vega has a team-leading 20 goals to start 2025, while Jack Kelleher has 19 tallies. Previous: 10
3. Episcopal Dallas (Texas), 0-0
The Eagles begin their 2025 campaign on Feb. 27 when they face Houston Christian (Texas). Josh Logan, a junior committed to Virginia, is expected to be a key player for Episcopal this season. Previous: 3
4. St. Andrew’s (Fla.), 4-1
The Scots began the season with victories over Stoneman Douglas (Fla.), Loyola (Calif.), Community School Naples (Fla.), and Cardinal Gibbons (Fla.). The win over Community School Naples avenged last year’s stunning playoff loss to CSN. St. Andrew’s then fell to Benjamin 17-11. Previous: 1
5. Highland Park (Texas), 4-1
The Highlanders have already had an active start to the year, which included a competitive 9-7 loss to national juggernaut Culver (Ind.). The season also opened with wins over Dripping Springs (Texas), Cy Woods (Texas), Strake Jesuit (Texas), and Lake Travis (Texas). Previous: 4
6. Roswell (Ga.), 4-0
The Hornets are off to a strong start with early-season victories over Chattahoochee (Ga.), Johns Creek (Ga.), Buford (Ga.), and North Gwinnett (Ga.). Ben Weir has had a strong start to the season, including a six-goal performance against Chattahoochee. Previous: 7
7. St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.), 4-0
The Raiders outscored opponents by a 65-5 margin to begin the year. The season started with wins over Gulliver Prep (Fla.), Cardinal Newman (Fla.), Stoneman Douglas (Fla.), and Community School Naples (Fla.). Previous: 6
8. Buford (Ga.), 3-1
The Wolves opened the year with a 19-9 win over Marietta (Ga.), but fell in their second game of the year to Roswell, 17-10. Buford recovered by defeating Collins Hill (Ga.) and Dacula (Ga.). Kamden Clack has already had five-goal performances against Marietta and Roswell. Previous: 5
9. IMG Academy (Fla.), 3-0
With the performances of freshmen Easton Miller and Hero Glowaki leading the way, the Ascenders started the year with a perfect 3-0 record. IMG Academy earned wins over Lakeland (Fla.), All Saints (Fla.), and Palm Harbor University (Fla.). Miller and Glowaki each have 11 points to start the year. Previous: 9
10. Westlake (Texas), 1-0
Spencer Burke’s three-goal, three-assist effort helped the Chaparrals defeat Dallas Jesuit (Texas) 15-9 to start the season. Sam Bralower had an impressive 18-save effort in the win. Previous: 10
Player of the Week
Jack Kelleher, Benjamin (Fla.)
It’s been tough over the years for Florida teams to topple St. Andrew’s (Fla.) but Jack Kelleher’s Buccaneers did just that last week. In Benjamin’s win, the sophomore attackman scored five times and added an assist. He is off to a hot start this year with 19 goals and nine assists.
