There were only seven games played among the ranked teams in the USA Lacrosse High School Boys' West Top 10. Action is set to pick up this week, headlined by a battle of top-three teams.
No. 1 St. Ignatius (Calif.) won its opener and will try to stay unbeaten against No. 3 Valor Christian (Colo.) when they host the Eagles on Friday. Five of the other six ranked teams that haven’t played yet will open their seasons.
Cathedral Catholic (Calif.) is the one newcomer to the West rankings. On the strength of three straight wins, including one over previously ranked Brophy (Ariz.), the Dons are a legitimate threat. They’ll find out just how good they are against No. 2 Torrey Pines (Calif.) in another top-10 faceoff.
Compiled by USA Lacrosse writers with input from coaches around the country, our West rankings cover the Mountain, Pacific and Northwest regions and at least part of the Southwest.
