Lawrenceville (N.J.) Ranked No. 1 in High School Boys' Preseason National Top 25

Three-time defending Prep Nationals champion Lawrenceville (N.J.) is the No. 1-ranked team in the USA Lacrosse High School Boys’ National Preseason Top 25, presented by CWENCH Hydration.

Led by U.S. U15 Youth National Team coach Jon Posner, the Big Red have a boatload of depth on offense and their defense will be among the best in the nation. Lawrenceville returns seniors Colby Rossettie (Johns Hopkins) and Wyatt Stamnes (Michigan), and a talented junior class with Ayden Matthews (Penn State), Tate Starr (Virginia), Luke St. Pierre (North Carolina) and goalie Jett Stake (North Carolina).

As usual, a power-packed national schedule will test the Big Red, including the only three teams to beat them last year — Brunswick (Conn.), St. Anthony's (N.Y.) and Calvert Hall (Md.).

Loomis Chaffee (Conn.), Calvert Hall (Md.), St. Anthony’s (N.Y.) and Chaminade (N.Y.) round out the top five in the preseason rankings.

Compiled by USA Lacrosse writers with input from coaches around the country, the list also includes Top 10 rankings for each of our five regions of coverage — the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, Midwest and West.

Regional No. 1 spots went to Loomis Chaffee (Conn.), Lawrenceville (N.J.), St. Andrew’s (Fla.), Culver Academy (Ind.) and Cherry Creek (Colo.), respectively.

The season is well underway in the South and West. The first rankings updates for those regions will be March 3, with Mid-Atlantic and National updates starting March 10 and Northeast and Midwest updates starting March 24. Public schools-only lists also will be published starting in March.
